How Shiatsu works?

WORKS ON THE PRINCIPLES OF CHINESE MEDICINE

For over 2500 years, Chinese medicine is built upon observation of humans and nature; without modern anatomy and medical knowledge, it established its own theory and framework to explain how our body functions to the influences of nature. The focus of Chinese medicine is on how to maintain harmony within the body and with the outside environment. Shiatsu uses Chinese medicine as principles. It works with acupuncture points and meridians to restore harmony and unblock congested vital energy flow within our body.

DIRECTLY WORKING WITH MULTIPLE PHYSIOLOGICAL SYSTEMS

Shiatsu works with the skeletal and muscular systems by direct touch, it can effectively release restrictions in facia, relieve muscle tensions and increase joint mobility. It works with the parasympathetic nervous system, which has a deep relaxing effect to help balance our hormonal system and reduce inflammation.  Shiatsu bodywork also emphasizes on breathing techniques. This practice can relax respiratory muscles and improves lung capacity.

PROMOTES OPTIMAL FUNCTION

Shiatsu massage improves overall circulation, which helps to bring nutrients to body cells and promote optimal body function.
